TUMBLEWEEDS - Two items

Happy almost Valentine's Day! Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy! 😍

Two items on my list today:
  1. Reminder that the Pre-season Get-together Lunch is on Saturday, March 12th @ noon at the Outback Steakhouse on Overland in Boise. If you are planning on attending, please be sure you have marked YES on the planning sheet (tinyurl.com/Camping2022) and included the number in your party who will be there. We need to confirm with the restaurant at least a week ahead of time.

  2. I have been asked to gauge the interest in holding the first campout on April 1-3 at Bruneau Sand Dunes. I doubt the water will be on at that time (all depends on the weather) but electricity should still be available. Again, depending on the weather, not sure if Saturday night's potluck will be held on site or at one of the two restaurants in Bruneau. Jim & I are heading out that way next weekend to check them out.

So if you ARE interested, please click on the planning sheet (tinyurl.com/Camping2022) and mark YES in the INTERESTED column I have added on the 4/1 tab. This will help us decide if we should hold that campout or just cancel.
Let me know if you have any questions. The get-together lunch is only a month away and then camping season begins a couple of weeks after that.

COME ON SPRING!

Thanks,
Rita 😊

TUMBLEWEEDS: 2022 Camping information updates

Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday season! I, for one, am happy to see the sun shining today and the snow melting. Still c-c-c-cold but I can live with that. Just not thrilled with snow! The good news -- only 65 days until CAMPING SEASON STARTS!!!

I am sending updated camping information for this year. Several changes have been made.

NOTE THESE CHANGES.
  • The first campout of the season April 1-3 is still available for anyone who would like to be the wagonmaster. Let me know if you are interested.

  • Spots for Snake River RV Park for April 22-34 are being held until Feb 1st only. Make reservations ASAP!

  • Marcia & Dennis, Jim & I are going together to host the campout on May 13-15 and we have chosen Bully Creek outside Vale, OR. Reservations can be made after April 15th. It should be really nice this year with all the rain and snow.

  • The WARM LAKE campout date has been changed to the week before originally scheduled. The campground is closing on Monday, Sept 12th so the campout will be Sept 9-11. And remember, it's individual campsites. We do NOT have the group campground this year.

  • Reservations can now be made for the Oct 7-9 campout at Three Island Crossing. The sooner you make reservations, the better.

NEW SIGNUP SYSTEM
We now have a new system for signing up for campouts and food and sharing information. I have put together a Google Sheets document with all the dates and camping info, signup and attendance numbers, and members emails. Unless you go in and change the ATTENDING column from NO to YES, we'll assume you are not attending that campout.

You will see tabs at the bottom of the document for each campout this year. Click on the tab to move from sheet to sheet.

Bookmark this website: tinyurl.com/Camping2022
This is where you will find the information along with our website www.TumbleweedsBoise.com. Please visit this Camping2022 document as soon as you can to sign up for any/all campouts you might be attending. Changes can be made at any time so nothing is set in stone. Also, leave whatever comments you might want others to know. If you are the wagonmaster and want to add more info about your campout, I'll be happy to help.

UPDATES
Attached you will find the latest update to the camping schedule and an updated membership roster along with an updated email mailing list. Use this list if you are sending emails to the entire group.

As always, let me know if you have questions, comments, suggestions, additions/subtractions. PS -- the website is not quite up to date yet but I'm working on it.

MEMBERSHIP
The Tumbleweeds Boise currently has 20 members and 12 prospects so we are growing where other clubs are losing members. Have NO idea why!!! 😊

Looking forward to seeing you all at noon on March 12th at the Outback Steakhouse in Boise!

TUMBLEWEEDS UPDATE for upcoming season

First, thank you to all who attended the Planning meeting. It was a very productive meeting and we enjoyed taking a few minutes to get to know each other.

We have a couple of new members signup -- Welcome to Tom & Kit Bielawski, Bonnie & Dennis Bowers, Mae Engelhart, and Le & Carla Hult. We are now up to 21 new members and waiting on one more (Ted & Dani Renk). That's a lot of Tumbleweeds! 😊

Second, my apologies for my tardiness in getting this information out to you. Time just plain got away from me.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Attached you will find updated files for the Tumbleweeds Boise Good Sam chapter.
  • Minutes from November 6th Planning meeting
  • Membership roster
  • Camping 2022 schedule
  • Text file to use when sending out emails to all the members
  • Wagon Master Duties

UPCOMING CAMPING SCHEDULE
We have two dates available for wagonmasters/hosts for the 2022 season -- April 1-3 and May 13-15. If you are interested in playing wagonmaster, please let me know. You don't need a location just yet -- just a commitment to host the campout. NOTE TO NEWBIES -- all the "seasoned" members will be happy to help you out with your duties as wagonmaster. It's not really hard -- just takes a little bit of time.

Where can you find campgrounds? A good place is Idaho Campground Review
Sort by region > Southwestern Idaho
Although Sawtooth Mountain and South Central could work too.

WHEN DO WE MEET AGAIN?
The next campout/meeting will be Saturday, March 12th at noon. Outback Steakhouse on Overland in Boise.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions and if you'd like to host a campout.

Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to some good times next year!

Reminder: You can find out information on the Tumbleweeds Boise at www.TumbleweedsBoise.com.
